Auditions for FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
Production runs May 9-11, 2014 for 4 performances at the Lowell Mason Theatre in Medfield, MA. Rehearsals begin March 24th (3 nights per week). Depending on the role, you may not be called to all rehearsals. All roles open except for GOLDE, GRANDMA TZEITEL, and the RABBI.

The Lowell Mason Theatre (on the campus of Medfield High School) 88R South Street, Medfield, MA 02052. Closest parking lot to the auditorium is at 24 Pound Street, Medfield. The auditorium has a large floor-to-ceiling glass lobby, and is located to the right of the parking lot.
For the Audition:
1. Bring current headshot/picture, resume, and photo ID
2. Download and bring a completed Audition Form with any and all conflicts clearly listed
3. Download and prepare the audition song listed below for the role you are most interested in being considered for. This will be the only song you need to sing for your initial audition. Additional character consideration may be determined at the audition.
An accompanist will be provided. Vocal range may also be tested. Readings will be determined at the audition. NOTE: Costume measurements will be taking at the auditions.

Teyve: The likeable, hard-working, pious dairyman who always tries to see the positive side of life. He is a proud patriarch and father of five daughters, closely raised according to the old scriptures. He is humorous and relaxed, but when pushed, can show stubbornness and rage. Strong actor, who must carry the show and have a good connection with the audience. Male, 45-60 years old.
IF I WERE A RICH MAN
Tzeitel: Tevye’s eldest daughter, who is madly in love with Motel. She is loyal to her family but typically challenges the town's traditions. A strong dramatic actress, with comic timing. Female, 20-25 years old.
Hodel: Tevye’s second eldest daughter, who becomes involved with Perchik. She eventually leaves Anatevka to join Perchik in Siberia. Female, 18-23 years old.
FAR FROM THE HOME I LOVE
Chava: Tevye’s middle daughter who loves to read. Falls in love and runs off with Fydeka, a Russian soldier. Female, 15-20 years old.
Shprintze: Tevye’s fouth eldest daughter who takes lessons at home from Perchik. Female, 9-13 years old.
Bielke: Tevye’s youngest daughter who takes lessons at home from Perchik. Female, 8-12 years old.
Motel: The poor and meek tailor who shares a deep love with Tzeitel. Sensitive and nervous, but sincere and friendly. Male, 18-25 years old.
MIRACLE OF MIRACLES
Perchik: The outspoken student and visitor to Anatevka, who constantly challenges the traditions of the town. He eventually falls in love with Hodel. Male, 20-30 years old.
NOW I HAVE EVERYTHING
Fyedka: A strong, young Russian soldier who sees past his military obligations and falls in love with Chava. He challenges Tevye’s imposed silence. Male, 20-25 years old.
Lazar Wolf: The feisty, brawny butcher and the town's wealthiest citizen who wishes to marry Tzeitel. Male, 45-60 years old.
Yente: The meddling matchmaker. She is a widow and village busybody who knows all of the town gossip. Female, 50-60 years old.
Fruma-Sarah: Lazar’s Wolf's deceased first wife. She becomes enraged when her husband plans to wed Tzeitel. Female, 35-45 years old.
Ensemble: Villagers (Papas, Mamas, Sons, Daughters), Russian soldiers, etc. Several supporting roles, including the Fiddler, will be cast from the ensemble. Seeking all age ranges from children to seniors.
